Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the first online international summit Cardiomyopathy 2021 – The Cardiomyo
pathy Mind Set.
The international conference Cardiomyopathy 2021 – The Cardiomyopathy Mind Set is
organized by the Greek National Network of Precision Medicine in Cardiology (GR iCardi
acnet) in close collaboration with the International Cardiomyopathy Network. Given the unprecedented conditions imposed by the ongoing pandemic, the conference will take
place online on 1-3 October 2021.
Cardiomyopathy 2021 – The Cardiomyopathy Mind Set will explore contemporary views of
diagnostic techniques, risk stratification and management strategies in patients with inherited and
acquired heart muscle conditions from a renowned international faculty.
During these 3 days, we will have the opportunity to attend sessions on topics that cover daily
differential and therapeutic dilemmas faced by cardiologists working in the field of cardiomyopathy.
Among others, we will discuss how molecular tools can change clinical practice and the latest
developments in drug therapy for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and TTR amyloidosis.
Through lectures, interviews, abstract and case presentations the scientific program of the
conference aspires to describe the future medical practice in the field of inherited and rare cardio
vascular diseases as indicated by current developments.
The Greek National Network of Precision Medicine in Cardiology and the Prevention
of Sudden Death in the Young (GR iCardiacnet) was established in July 2019 as a partnership
of Greek public and University hospitals and major research institutions. Its aim is to provide clinical
and genetic evaluation of patients with inherited and rare cardiac disease, engage in research and
educational activities, and create national registries of sudden death in the young and of inherited
cardiac disease.
The International Cardiomyopathy Network (ICoN) is a newly established association of
medical, scientific, and lay stakeholders with the mission of improving the health of people affected
by cardiomyopathy and related diseases. ICoN plans to undertake a rolling programme to trans
form the cardiomyopathy landscape in Europe through clinical education and patient engagement
so that more people with cardiomyopathy can access the treatment and support that they need,
when they need it.
We look forward to your attendance at this important scientific event.
